Case Study | Allied Vehicles | Glasgow | 500kW+ Commercial Solar Installation
Eco Vision Energy is proud to have completed a large-scale commercial solar installation for Allied Vehicles in Glasgow, with a total system capacity exceeding half a megawatt.
This project was delivered in two phases to ensure minimal disruption to the client’s day-to-day operations while managing the complexity of working across multiple buildings and electrical systems.
System Overview (Total Project):
• 1,170 JA Solar 450W panels
• 12 Solis inverters
• 1 Solis export power manager
• Clenergy mounting rail system
Phase 1:
Phase 1 formed the foundation of the project and included:
• 730 solar panels
• Installed across 4 separate roofs
• 8 Solis inverters
Due to the scale of the system, significant electrical infrastructure upgrades were required. Eco Vision Energy installed:
• New 400A busbars
• 2 new section boards
This ensured the system could operate safely and efficiently at high capacity.
The logistics of this phase were complex, with all works carefully timed and coordinated to allow Allied Vehicles to continue operating without disruption.
Phase 2:
Phase 2 has now been successfully completed, expanding the system further with:
• 440 additional solar panels
• Installed across 2 separate roofs
• 4 additional inverters
This phase built on the infrastructure installed during Phase 1, completing the full system and maximising the available roof space across the site.
Outcome:
The completed system will significantly reduce Allied Vehicles’ reliance on grid electricity, delivering substantial long-term cost savings while supporting sustainability goals at scale.
By carefully planning and phasing the installation, Eco Vision Energy was able to deliver a project of this size with minimal disruption to business operations — a key requirement for a busy commercial site.
This project highlights our capability in delivering large, complex commercial solar installations across multiple buildings, making the most of available space while ensuring performance, safety and reliability.
